Environmental Sustainability Projects of the CU Environmental Studies & Masters of the Envrionment programs
November 14, 2019 –
Student & Community Collaboration for Sustainability
The CU Center for Sustainable Landscapes and Communities is pleased to offer an evening of community collaboration for sustainability! This event is free and open to the public, but please register!
CU undergraduates in the Environmental Studies (ENVS) program and graduate students in the Masters of the Environment (MENV) program will present projects that have been co-created with faculty and community partners to address issues of environmental sustainability that are highly relevant to our local and regional communities. For example, MENV students will present progress on scoping an “Ecosystem Trends” report for Boulder County, and undergraduates will present strategic plans for projects developed on topics such as campus water use and monitoring, well water quality, forest health & wildfire risk, experiential environmental education for middle- and high-school students, and the Boulder Canyon Recreation Management Plan.
Register now! This event will take place on Thursday, November 14, with a reception with food and beverages starting at 5:30 pm in the SEEC Atrium and opportunities to engage in conversation with students about their projects. The evening program will include brief student presentations, audience dialogue regarding projects and ecosystem trends, and a talk by Katie Suding, CU professor and founder of the Boulder Apple Tree Project that is rediscovering Boulder’s apple heritage.
