March 11, 2019 –
Are you interested in protecting our sky from light pollution, and protecting the wildlife that depend on darkness?
"How Dark is Your Sky?"
A presentation on Boulder County’s involvement in dark sky issues
Anyone interested is welcome to attend:
Monday March 11, 12-1 p.m.
Boulder County Courthouse, BOCC Hearing Room
As the human population grows, more houses are built, more lights are turned on, and we see much less of the night sky. Astronomers lament this problem, but it also causes difficulties for wildlife and humans. Boulder County has participated in a dark sky study the last four years in collaboration with other Front Range agencies to track areas where darkness still reigns after sunset. Learn about this issue in more detail, see what Boulder County is doing to protect dark skies, view a new map that shows our darkest areas of the county, and find out what you can do to promote dark sky health for all. Presented by Deborah Price, Natural History Program Specialist, Boulder County Parks & Open Space.
