Boulder City Council Meeting Preserve Wonderland Lake
February 19, 2019 –
Our heartfelt eco-activism has yielded some very rewarding and encouraging results so far. A small neighborhood steering committee has formed to keep our efforts to preserve Wonderland Lake as a wildlife sanctuary focused and moving forward.
OSMP has heard from our community and is setting aside preliminary alternatives for the Wonderland Lake area while the department seeks guidance from the City Council and the Open Space Board of Trustees and receives additional community input. Moving forward, OSMP will no longer be considering a boardwalk and a fishing pier in the area. There will be no implementation of any alternatives in 2019.
OSMP will be providing an update to the City Council at its February 19th meeting.
OSMP also will be discussing this project with the Open Space Board of Trustees in April and will be updating the community about the future direction of the area.
The next big milestone in our process is the next City Council meeting :
Tuesday, Feb 19, 2019, 6:00PM
Boulder, CO 80302
This meeting will be a time for city council to address the feedback from the questionnaires submitted at the January 15th community meeting and gathered until January 22nd. Wonderland Lake may only be allocated 10 minutes on their agenda, and it will not be a time for the public to speak to Council. But your attendance will underscore the ongoing concerns we have about future plans for development around the lake. Please do consider attending.
