Public Hearing: new bike trail Eldorado Canyon State Park
January 24, 2019 –
Public hearings on the proposal are scheduled before the Boulder County Parks and Open Space Advisory Committee on January 24, 2019 starting at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioner’s Hearing Room in the Boulder County Courthouse, 1525 Pearl Street, and on February 13, 2019 before the City of Boulder Open Space Board of Trustees. (The place and time of that meeting are still pending but it probably will be at 6 p.m. at the new OSMP offices at 2520 55th Street.)
The staffs of the City and County Open Space Advisory Boards, along with State Parks, are recommending that a new “multiuse” (bike) trail be constructed from Eldorado Canyon State Park west to the existing Walker Ranch Loop Trail.
The trail will negatively impact over 20 acres of City Habitat Conservation Area lands and require over 40 new "mountain-bike-friendly" switchbacks across the hillsides.
